  • Asia Pacific led the pack with 50.9 GWh deployed, an increase of 27% year-over-year.
  • Europe followed with 23.9 GWh deployed, a large increase of 89% year-over-year.
  • The Americas deployed just 20.5 GWh, only 1% higher than the prior year.
  • The Middle East and Africa combined had 0.17 GWh, up 57% year-over-year.

At the global level in 2019, fully electric BEVs were responsible for 90% of all passenger vehicle battery capacity deployed, followed by plug-in hybrids with 7% and hybrids with the remaining 3%.
